Rushing Wind

Rushing Wind Retreat Center is a Christian fly in fishing camp located on Populus Lake, 20 miles east of Sioux Narrows, Ontario.

The camp is a place where men, women, couples, families, and groups can come and enjoy God’s great outdoors. They cater to individuals who are looking for physical and mental relaxation and spiritual refreshing. Fishing for Lake Trout, Northern Pike, Walleye, and Muskie in the main lake and on several portage lakes is all part of the experience. There are also beautiful hikes, a prayer trial and kayaks to explore with… or you can just sit back and relax while you enjoy wonderful fellowship with others.

Retreat dates and more information for their upcoming 5 day Men’s and Couples Retreats are posted under the events page of God’s Great Outdoors website.

The camp is run by Arnie and Dee Wolf, who write:

“Tim found joy in coming up to Rushing Wind for several years. He was a blessing to all who worked alongside him in projects to beautify the camp. He found and sensed the reason Rushing Wind was all about in showing the Lord to a hurting world. His family would like memorials put towards seeing others attending Rushing Wind to experience what Tim had so loved.

The camp offers a variety of events that will appeal to anyone seeking a closer relationship with Christ. We offer retreats for men, women, couples and we encourage families to join us as we celebrate the glory of the Lord. Many of our retreats are attended by guest speakers who are members of God’s Great Outdoors, they will share their testimonies and how their life has been enriched through Jesus Christ. Over the past years many of our guests gave their lives to Jesus, some recommitted their lives to the Lord, and several others lives were touched and changed in many ways. We are still rejoicing for all that has happened over the many years, and we are excited to see what the Lord is going to do throughout our upcoming seasons. We would be happy and feel blessed to have you as our guest.”

For the last 7 years Tim Harder has been a part of, and helped organise, spring and fall work teams. These teams tackle camp improvements and renovations for the first half of the day and then enjoy fishing for the second half! These trips where we work, fish and worship together have made a deep impact on many lives, as everyday distractions are removed and hearts are free to connect with God and one another at a deeper level. Daniel Williams will be continuing to organise these work teams each year as well as Men’s Mentorship and Father – Son Retreats.
